1. About LearnInsure

LearnInsure is a web-based learning platform developed as part of an academic research project of Mapúa University. It provides self-paced modules, quizzes, and scenario-based activities to support the training of aspiring and current insurance agents in the Philippines, particularly those from small firms that lack in-house training.

LearnInsure is not affiliated with the Insurance Commission (IC) and does not issue certifications, licensure, or official accreditation. It is intended solely for educational and research purposes.

Use of the Platform is intended only for adults who can enter into legally binding agreements under Philippine law.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using LearnInsure, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions ("Agreement"). This Agreement governs all use of the Platform.

The LearnInsure research team may update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted within the Platform, and continued use constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you disagree, you must stop using the Platform.

3. Educational Purpose

LearnInsure does not provide official credentials or guarantee success in the IC licensure examination. Completion of modules and activities is for training support only. Users are encouraged to pursue formal review programs and official resources required by the Insurance Commission.

4. Eligibility

You may use LearnInsure if:

You are at least 18 years old.
You are a trainee, licensed insurance agent, affiliated with an insurance firm, or an individual who wants to learn about insurance concepts.
You agree to use the Platform solely for non-commercial, personal learning purposes.

5. Intellectual Property and Use of Content

All learning materials are either original works created for this study or adapted from publicly available references. These remain the intellectual property of their respective authors and LearnInsure.

You may not:

Copy, reproduce, or distribute materials without permission.
Post or share internal content publicly (e.g., quizzes, exercises).
Use the Platform for commercial or resale purposes.

Users are granted a limited, non-transferable license to access materials solely for educational use.

6. User Responsibilities

By using LearnInsure, you agree to:

Use the Platform responsibly and only for its intended educational purpose.
Avoid disrupting operations, introducing harmful code, or attempting unauthorized access.
Provide accurate information when completing surveys or feedback forms.
Keep your account credentials secure and notify the team if compromised.

The LearnInsure team may restrict or terminate access for users who violate these rules.

7. Data Privacy

LearnInsure respects your privacy. Data collected (such as age, educational background, experience, or digital literacy) will be:

Used only for academic research, evaluation, and improvement.
Processed in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173).
Stored securely, anonymized, and never disclosed publicly in an identifiable form.

By using the Platform, you consent to this limited and research-based use of your data.

8. System Availability and Changes

The LearnInsure platform may be updated, improved, or modified at any time. Access may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, testing, or development. While efforts will be made to ensure smooth operation, continuous or permanent access cannot be guaranteed.

9. Monitoring and Reporting

The LearnInsure team may, but is not obligated to, monitor user activities for research purposes. Any misuse may result in warnings, suspension, or termination of access and may be reported to appropriate authorities if laws or policies are violated.

10. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

LearnInsure is provided "as is" as part of an academic project. The research team and Mapúa University make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding accuracy, availability, or performance.

Neither LearnInsure nor its developers shall be liable for:

Exam results, financial losses, or damages arising from platform use.
Technical issues caused by user devices, browsers, or internet connections.
Any reliance placed on learning materials.

Use of the Platform is at your own risk.

11. Indemnity

You agree to hold harmless LearnInsure, Mapúa University, and its faculty, researchers, and partners from any claims, damages, or liabilities resulting from misuse of the Platform or violation of these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, including the Data Privacy Act of 2012, the Intellectual Property Code, and relevant civil and commercial laws.

Privacy Policy

LearnInsure is an interactive learning platform developed for the academic and professional training of financial advisor trainees in the Philippines. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173).

By using LearnInsure, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

2. What Personal Data We Collect

When you use LearnInsure, we may reach out to you to provide a survey and collect the following types of information:

Processed only by the authorized research team

5. Data Sharing and Publication

Any results or findings from this research may be published in academic journals, conference papers, or reports. However:

Your identity will never be revealed
Only grouped or statistical data will be shown (e.g., "60% of trainees found the ILM effective")
Direct quotes may be used anonymously if they provide insights into user experience

6. Data Storage and Retention

Your data will be stored securely using digital safeguards. Only the research team has access.

We will retain data only for as long as necessary to complete the research study and comply with ethical requirements. After the study concludes, data may be archived or deleted in accordance with institutional policies.

7. Your Rights Under RA 10173

Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012, you have the right to:

Be informed about how your data is collected and used
Access the data you have provided
Correct inaccurate or outdated information
Withdraw your consent at any time
Object to the processing of your data
Request the deletion of your personal data (where applicable)
